Our purpose-built facility in Penang, Malaysia, houses a full range of laboratory mammalian species for pre-clinical testing namely: mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, dogs, mini-pigs and non-human primates.  Progenix conducts regulatory safety studies for novel medical products and registration of chemicals.  The vivaria incorporate design features for the provision of all routes of exposure including inhalation toxicology and other parenteral administrations.

Toxicology services are fully supported by haematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, analysis/bioanalysis, pathology and quality assurance departments, as well as facilities for cardiovascular systems, ophthalmoscopy and behavioural studies.

Progenix Research senior management is comprised of experienced scientists and managers with long experience in International Contract Research Organisations (CRO’s). Our team offer advice on testing strategies, toxicology interpretation, meeting regulatory compliance and on achieving quality standards.  The European link is maintained through management and marketing offices in the UK and continental Europe.  Progenix also has GLP diagnostic, microbiology, immunohistochemistry and histology processing laboratories in Europe providing complementary in-vitro services.

Non-human primate toxicology is supported by our own breeding facility, close to the main research site, supplying primarily old-world primates (Rhesus and Cynomolgus macaques).  We provide the very highest standards of housing and environmental enrichment for these animals.
