Progenix Research offers an extensive range of pre-clinical toxicity tests for chemical safety evaluation including tests for worldwide chemical notification, registration of plant protection products and biocides and studies for High Production Volume (HPV) programs under the Organisation for Economic Development and Co-Operation (OECD), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) schemes.

Irritancy and sensitisation studies
Skin and eye irritation, skin sensitisation (local lymph node assay, Magnusson and Kligman [M&K], Buehler).

Acute toxicity
Acute oral, dermal and inhalation toxicity to OECD, EC, EPA and Japanese Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (JMAFF) guidelines.

 

Repeated dose toxicity
28-day (sub-acute), 90-day (sub-chronic) and 1 year (chronic) toxicity studies in rats and dogs by oral (gavage or dietary), dermal and inhalation routes. OECD, EC, EPA, Japanese MAFF, Japanese Chemical Substance Control Law, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) food additives etc.  Full neurotoxicity functional observation capability.

Neurotoxicity
Acute and repeated dose (28-day or 90-day) neurotoxicity studies according to OECD, EPA and Japanese MAFF guidelines.

Carcinogenicity
Carcinogenicity and combined chronic and carcinogenicity studies in mice and rats according to OECD, EC, EPA and JMAFF requirements. Oral, dermal or inhalation exposure.

Reproductive toxicology
Developmental toxicity in rats and rabbits, single- and multi-generation reproductive studies to OECD, EC, EPA and Japanese MAFF guidelines.  Reproduction/developmental toxicity screening studies (OECD 421) and combined repeated dose oral toxicity/reproductive developmental toxicity studies (OECD 422).  Developmental neurotoxicity studies and tests for endocrine disruption.

Toxicokinetics
A full capability for Absorption Distribution Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) studies.

Mutagenicity
Ames tests, in-vitro and in-vivo chromosome aberration studies, in-vitro mouse lymphoma assay and in-vivo micronucleus test.
